Evonik launches Ecobiol probiotic at VIV Asia 2017
Evonik marks another milestone in the Asian market as it launched its Ecobiol® probiotic soltuion at VIV Asia 2017 in Bangkok, Thailand, on March 17.
A late morning seminar titled "Gut Health Solutions by Evonik" preceded the afternoon event in the BITEC convention centre's Abu Dhabi Square, and presented Ecobiol's efficacy in stabilising the microbiome and supporting natural balance of aquaculture species. The product is an addition to other Evonik animal health solutions including the AQUAVI® Met-Met methionine dipeptide for crustaceans, and CreAMINO® creatine source for broilers and breeders, and ValAMINO® (L-Valine) for precise and efficient poultry and swine nutrition.
Ecobiol® helps to maintain the natural gut balance and has a positive effect on the gut microbiome that has been scientifically proven (in-vitro- and in in-vivo).
"Ecobiol® is new in our portfolio. We are convinced of the product's high potential and its applicability in various fields by virtue of unique properties," says Emmanuel Auer, head of the Animal Nutrition business line at Evonik. "We consider Ecobiol® a key element towards the reduction of antibiotic growth promoters. This way, we contribute to healthy and sustainable animal nutrition."
"Ecobiol® shows very positive results in both poultry and aquaculture, for instance under various stress conditions," says Peter Freisler, head of Evonik's Gut Health Solutions. "That has been demonstrated in scientific studies as well as in commercial use. For our customers in South East Asia this is of focal interest, particularly in shrimp farming."
In support of Ecobiol's launch, Evonik conducted an online CEO panel discussion with Dr. Alfred Petri where participants talked about challenges and issues faced in the market, including the impact on the industry ensuing from a gradual ban of AGPs.
This was followed by a short video interview with Dr. Petri concerning the future of food production and Evonik's role in this development.
