Aquaculture Extrusion Technology short course
April 24 – 26, 2017
This three-day course covers the principles of extrusion, the design of extrusion processes for aquatic feeds, as well as how the formulation interacts with the extrusion process. Principles learned will be demonstrated using the extruder in the Centre for Feed Technology pilot plant located at As, Norway.
The programme provides a good background in general extrusion technology, but is specifically directed at aquafeed extrusion. The course is relevant to both single and twin screw extrusion technology. The course will cover topics from the basics of extruders and their configuration, through what is happening chemically and physically inside the extruder barrel, to an understanding of extruder dies and extruder instability.
Registration for the course closes on April 12, 2017.

Food & Feed Drying Technology short course
April 27 – 28, 2017
Drying is an essential operation in aquafeed production, and it is one of the most energy-intensive process operations. Yet it t it is often poorly understood and inefficient. This short course in drying technology combines the practical perspective of experienced industry professionals with the in-depth technical knowledge of drying processes. This course is about understanding drying technology, and how to use that understanding to improve current processes, or design/select new systems that are both effective and efficient.
