Asia Feed Milling Forum debuts at VIV Asia 2015

Chinese-speaking visitors to VIV Asia 2015 being held at Bitec in Bangkok, Thailand, until today (March 13) took advantage of the "Welcome China" conferences to keep themselves abreast of the latest trends in the feed and livestock industries in the Asia-Pacific region.
 
An afternoon session conducted in Mandarin by eFeedlink, an industry news portal and publisher of Feed Business Worldwide magazine, on March 12, the second day of the three-day trade event, featured Dupont Industrial Biosciences regional director T.C. Tan who spoke on "Asia Feed Market Development Trends".
 
A robust question-and-answer session, also in Chinese, followed Mr. Tan's well-attended talk. Mr. Tan also spoke on the challenges facing, and opportunities in, the feed and livestock industries in the Asia-Pacific region, especially China and Southeast Asia.
 
Moderated by Shi Tao, eFeedLink senior consultant on feed and livestock, the conference also had as second speaker Steven Toh, senior product application manager of Kemin Asia. He spoke on "New generation moisture control systems", briefly introducing Kemin's MillSMART programme as well.
 
Designed to improve feed production productivity and bottom line, MillSMART guarantees the quality of feed materials and products from feed formulation to feed delivery through real-time computerised monitoring.
 
The "Welcome China" programme was in fact a two-day event. It opened on Day 1 of VIV Asia 2015 with a talk on "Chinese Feed Additives in Animal Health and Disease Control by Dr. Shourong Shi of the Poultry Institute at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
 
It was followed by an "Introduction of Carotenoid and Application in Feed" by Dr. Qian Yu, Guangzhou of Leader Bio-Tech, China.
 
Discussions on "Coating For Intestinal Health" by Lei Wang (Stone) of King Techina and "Practical Solutions in Animal Health" by Guangdong VTR Bio-Tech were also held during the first day of the "Welcome China" programme.
