Merial, Zoetis in deal to exclusively market products in India

     
                        

Merial and Zoetis India Limited have established an agreement on exclusive marketing and distribution of dairy cattle medicines and vaccines in India.

 

As part of the deal, Merial India will - from April 2016 - sell Zoetis' products, including global and local brands such as Bovical, Lutalyse and Xnel Dectomax, and vaccines like Rispoval and Spirovac. The company possesses an extensive portfolio of over 50 brands comprising of vaccines, therapeutics and nutritional products for ruminants, poultry and pets.


"The newly added products complement Merial's existing ruminant business in India, which includes vaccines, therapeutics and nutritionals. It increases our presence in the important dairy segment and expands our current product offerings," said Sandeep Karkhanis, country manager of Merial India. "We now have a robust portfolio with strong customer loyalty, making us a key player in the rapidly growing Indian ruminant market."

 

According to Ketan Dhamanaskar, managing director of Zoetis India, the agreement will help both companies' portfolios and marketing strategies to work in a more effective manner.

 

"As a result of this arrangement, Zoetis India Limited will also be able to focus its field force and resources on building a stronger presence and market leadership in the poultry and companion animal sectors in India," Dhamanaskar said.
