The North American Meat Institute (NAMI) has announced that its latest Meat & Poultry Facts is now available in printed and digital formats.
The 2015 and 44th edition of the leading livestock, meat and poultry industry resource contains the latest statistics on production, consumption, prices, imports, exports, employment and wages, among others.
A joint publication of NAMI and Sterling Marketing Inc., the statistical book can be purchased from NAMI's online store.
"Meat & Poultry Facts is the leading, most comprehensive resource for meat and livestock industry information," said NAMI President and CEO Barry Carpenter. "The detailed data provides valuable insight to industry professionals and individuals who seek to better understand the internal dynamics and key trends of the industry."
Sterling Marketing President John Nalivka noted in his introduction that the meat and livestock industry faced several challenges in 2015. He discussed the repercussions caused by porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDv) and avian influenza, along with export challenges that were exacerbated by a strong US dollar and weaker Asian economies.
Despite those obstacles, the beef and pork industries strengthened their herd-building capabilities, while packer and producer margins remained positive, Nalivka said.
