Natural feed additives company Delacon is launching three new products at the VIV Asia 2015 animal husbandry and processing expo, which runs from March 11 to 13 at the Bangkok International Trade Exhibition Centre (Bitec) in Bangna, Bangkok, Thailand.
Mr. Martin Broetel, Delacon head of marketing, announced the scheduled launch at a meeting with reporters at Bitec on the eve of the VIV 2015 opening.
Two of the three new feed additive products -- Actifor® Boost and Actifor® Power -- are designed to improve the performance of ruminants, he said.
In a press statement, Delacon's CEO Markus Dedl said "Delacon currently records strong growth in cattle" in Europe, the US and Japan, the primary markets for its additives for ruminants. "Accordingly, at VIV Asia we clearly highlight our extended product family in this sector," he said, disclosing that the extended product line is already available in South Korea, Thailand, China and Japan.
In other countries, according to him, these products are in different stages of approval.
The launch of the two products, which Mr. Broetel said is in "response to future challenges and current strong demand in the ruminant sector," supplements Actifor® Pro, which has been in the market for some time now.
Low feed efficiency due to multiple energy and protein losses is one of the biggest challenges in ruminant production, Mr. Broetel said. In dairy cows less than a third of the protein and energy intake is converted to milk, in beef cattle the conversion to meat is even less than a tenth.
To increase feed efficiency and animal health, Delacon developed the product line Actifor® for ruminants, according to Mr. Broetel, who added that Actifor® has now been expanded to include Actifor® Boost and Actifor® Power.
The two new products, according to him, increase health and performance of animals, reduce feed costs, lower the level of animal emissions, not to mention guaranteeing residue-free meat products.
In short, these new phytogenic feed additives are "designed to bring benefits to animals, farmers, consumers and the environment alike," he added.
"The Actifor® product line contains only natural substances like essential oils, saponins and pungent substances that are carefully selected and optimally aligned to the nutritional needs of ruminants," he said. "Various studies show that Actifor® improves feed efficiency by about 10%."
The third product set to be launched is Biostrong® Forte, "which combines beneficial Biostrong® 510 effects with short and medium chain fatty acids."
Biostrong® Forte helps to fight the common intestinal challenges found in antibiotic-free production, according to Mr. Broetel.
