2nd bird flu case confirmed in Bosnia-report
Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) has confirmed another case of H5N8 bird flu, this time in a zoo in its capital city, Sarajevo, according to a local media report on Wednesday, March 1.
This is the second bird flu case confirmed in BiH in less than a month. The first one hit the northwestern town of Prijedor last month.
The BiH Joint Center for Disease Control will continue to coordinate activities to implement the prescribed disease-control measures in accordance with the legislation in force, the Veterinary Office said.
Cases of bird flu have hit several countries across Europe in the past months, including neighbouring Croatia and Macedonia.
