Low animal inventories, cautious mood to weigh on China methionine market
Prices of methionine were unchanged during the week ending March 2.
Price quotes of imported dl-methionine were unchanged in the range of RMB40-41/kg.
The market was on holiday on February 18-24, and most traders and feed millers had not returned even after the holiday officially ended. Prices of methionine were unchanged as there was minimal trading during the period in review.
In the longer term, methionine market will be under pressure due to diminished livestock inventories and the cautious mood of feed millers.
