China methionine prices break new lows
Prices of methionine were stable to lower during the week ending February 28.
Tumbling prices of broilers due to the bird flu epidemic dampened the confidence of farmers and slashed the sales of poultry feed. Methionine usages dropped inevitably, compelling sellers to cut prices further amid ample availability. However, as prices have fallen to new record lows, methionine producers and distributors were less willing to give discounts.
For liquid methionine, price quotes were stable around RMB21/kg.
