China's Shanghai to implement pork tracing system in March
The Shanghai municipality in China announced that it has developed pork distribution tracing system, which will be fully implemented in 19 districts and counties in March.
The Shanghai Foreign Economic Relation and Trade Commission said the system will consist of five sub-systems and one data center.
Medium and large live pig slaughter farms in Shanghai will adopt the live pig slaughtering and pork distribution safety information tracing sub-system to fully monitor live pig purchases, slaughtering, processing, quarantine, inspection and sales.
