Demand for animal feed was weak due to diminished inventories following high releases in the period leading to Chinese New Year. Threonine producers continued to lower prices, while corn costs dropped, in efforts to entice buyers.
In Europe, price quotes of Chinese products slid to EUR1.40-1.50/kg.
Threonine market is poised to remain soft in the coming weeks with the livestock industry at its annual lull. Moreover, pots-Chinese New Year recovery will be slower than usual this year as China's economic outlook is uncertain.
