Iraq's 2012 wheat yield to slide on-year
The wheat harvest of Iraq for 2012 is anticipated to further lower by 10-15% as compared with the previous year if rains do not arrive soon.
Although some small showers have helped the crop, wheat yields are already down by 11% on the last seasons crop.
If the rains do not arrive Iraq will most likely need to increase its imports of wheat for milling purposes, by the amount of the shortfall, at this time estimated to be around 250 million tonnes.
