Libya and Morocco sign cooperation protocol for fisheries, aquaculture

 

 

 

‎Libya's Ministry of Marine Resources reported on February 6 that a cooperation protocol in the field of fisheries and aquaculture was signed on the same day between the Minister of Marine Resources, Adel Sultan, and the Moroccan Secretary of State in charge of Fisheries, Zakia Dariouche, in Agadir, Morocco.

 

The signing took place on the sidelines of the 7th edition of Halieutis, the international exhibition of fisheries techniques held on February 6-9 in Agadir.‎

 

‎The ministry reported that the protocol reflects the will of both countries to deepen cooperation in the fields of knowledge exchange and experiences by focusing on training, specialised training, research, and advanced scientific studies that enhance the ability to achieve sustainable development in the maritime sector.‎

 

‎The areas of cooperation covered by the protocol are:‎

 

    - ‎Exchange of experiences and best practices‎;

 

    - Advanced technical training and training;

    - Research and field studies in the fields of fisheries and aquaculture;

 

    - ‎Commenting on the protocol, Sultan stressed the great importance of this cooperation, which will enhance Libya's capabilities in developing its maritime sector and achieving environmental sustainability. He noted that the protocol will be activated soon through the formation of a joint committee.

 

‎The Ministry of Marine Resources affirmed that this cooperation will represent a new starting point towards a partnership that contributes to supporting the national economy and achieving sustainable development in the maritime sector.
