Pathway Intermediates solidifies presence in North America with new business unit, Pathway Nutrition

Pathway Intermediates Limited, a global company leading research and product development in livestock animal nutrition products for all livestock species, is expanding its products' reach to the North American market — and it's doing so through Pathway Nutrition, whose launch was recently announced by subsidiary Pathway Intermediates USA.
Based in Chicago, Illinois, the United States, Pathway Nutrition will now take its flagship products, like Lipidol® lysophospholipid and Endo-Power® multi-non-starch polysaccharide (NSP) enzyme products, to North America. This new sales and technical service unit consists "of qualified technical members per species, and will provide more opportunities to connect with customers and customised products and services to meet their unique requirements," Dr. Eric Kwon, general manager of Pathway Intermediates USA, tells eFeedLink.
Previously, Pathway Intermediates depended on its global technical/sales team to bring products to the United States, and this "limits our coverage in the marketplace and narrows our insights on the various issues our customers might be experiencing," Dr. Kwon explains.
The presence of Pathway Nutrition allows its parent company to effectively operate a sales arm in North America via Pathway Intermediates USA.
In this market, Pathway Intermediates adopts a business-to-business (B2B) model to deliver technical support as it considers "every feed manufacturer, ingredients blenders and regional/local distributor" to be a potential customer. Its technical service entails giving specific guidelines for the application of its technologies in animal diet programmes.
Additionally, the key approach of Pathway Nutrition is to maintain "close contact with B2B customers," Dr. Kwon points out, as well as providing "more customised technical service based on a deep understanding of local and regional issues that (North American) customers are concerned about."
"Pathway Nutrition customers will benefit from the highly researched and proven technologies that Pathway Intermediates has developed, and will continue to develop in coordinated efforts with our other Pathway affiliates around the globe," he remarks.
According to Dr. Kwon, the North America-focused business unit is seeking to meet environmental, social and governance (ESG) commitments by "building a business for long-term relationships and meeting our responsibility to society and customers."
He adds: "One of our commitments is to provide our eco-friendly product lines for (relevant) issues." These issues, specifically, are sustainability, ingredients cost inflation, livability and antibiotic use.
In the area of sustainability, Lipidol® and Endo-Power® will help livestock producers to cut carbon and nitrogen emissions "by improving nutrient digestibility and absorption efficiency of livestock animals." Both products will also contribute to cost savings for feed by "complementing a reduced energy level in feed" and improving feed efficiency for the benefit of "more profit" for the customer.
Furthermore, Pathway's other products, YeaMune-UP® (a yeast cell wall product that originates from Saccharomyces boulardii) and Q-Life® (natural botanical alternatives to anticoccidials and antibiotic growth promoters) will enable animals to have "better livability… by improving gut health and immunity," Dr. Kwon says. Through Pathway Intermediates' natural products, the company can fulfill the needs of customers concerned about antibiotic use in production.

In an earlier press statement, Dr. Stevenson Hwang expressed excitement about launching "Pathway Nutrition in the United States and bringing our nutritional technologies to livestock producers across North America."
