European vegoils: Palm oil down on weak export data
 
 
LONDON: Palm oil prices on the European vegetable oils market were lower on Tuesday, weighed by weak export data. Exports of Malaysian palm oil products for Feb. 1-10 fell 4.2 percent to 307,122 tonnes from 320,714 tonnes shipped during Jan. 1-10, cargo surveyor Societe Generale de Surveillance said on Tuesday.
 
"Palm oil was lower on slow 1-10 February exports," one broker said. Crude palm oil for April/June shipment traded at $690 a tonne, down $10 from Monday, while RBD palm olein for April/June traded down to $650, a fall of $12.50.
 
Activity in soybean oil was subdued ahead of a closely watched report which was issued by the US Department of Agriculture at 1700 GMT.
