100,000 poultry culled in Vietnam this year due to bird flu
The Vietnam government said it has culled 100,000 poultry so far in 2021 to prevent the spread of bird flu in the country, Reuters reported.
Vietnam has reported outbreaks of highly pathogenic H5N1 and H5N6 bird flu strains in 14 provinces in the country.
There are 460 million birds in Vietnam, with small-scale outbreaks of the bird flu virus reported periodically in the last few years.
