Fonterra joint venture to produce infant formula for China in second half, 2016
A joint venture between Fonterra and China's Beingmate, based in a Darnum plant in Australia, could begin making infant formula products for the Chinese market during the second half of 2016, National Business Review reported.
Fonterra's Anmum brand will be distributed - via the joint venture - in China. Products are currently subjected to final regulatory approvals before they can be exported.
The joint venture is purposed to develop a fully integrated world supply chain chiefly to fulfil the huge Chinese demand for infant formula. I
It is owned 51% by Beingmate and 49% by Fonterra.
