SSJFZ to start construction on its 100,000-head swine farm this year

Although the construction of a modern, zero-emissions swine farm is one of Sino-Singapore Jilin Food Zone's (SSJFZ) anchor project, it has been hit by various delays since its inception.

Following up after the in-depth discussion between both parties last June, key representatives from Singapore and China met again in Changchun on 1st February this week, to discuss further on the details of the swine farm.

As of now, two things are certain: the 100,000-head swine breeding farm will begin construction this year, and that Chia Tai Group will be involved in this project. It was also reported that suitable farm plots in Yongji and Changyi have been selected, and that the management is currently working on the procurement paper works.

SSJFZ is a joint venture between the Jilin city government and Singbridge, a member of the Ascendas-Singbridge group that is majority-owned by Temasek Holdings.
