Poor demand drags down methionine prices in China
Prices of methionine continued to weaken during the week ending January 28.
Even with the Chinese New Year holidays approaching, demand for methionine failed to improve.
Price quotes of imported dl-methionine slid to the range of RMB17.80-19/kg, dipping RMB0.20-0.70/kg.
Sales of methionine are expected to dwindle as feed producers gradually halt operation with the Chinese New Year approaching.
