Canada imposes further bans on US poultry
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has implemented new restrictions after more cases of avian flu were confirmed in California and Idaho.
Persistent outbreaks of avian flu had previously been seen in flocks in Washington and Oregon states.
CFIA said it is taking further steps to protect Canada's poultry flocks from the highly virulent flu strain.
The action means that Canadian travellers are not allowed to bring back any poultry products that aren't fully cooked. They are also restricted from bringing back live birds, eggs, egg whites, feathers, poultry manure or lab material containing poultry.
