China Live Hog Weekly: Release surge sends prices diving (week ended Jan 18, 2019)
The availability of hog surged as farmers, who were worried that pork demand would be poor after the Chinese New Year holidays, expedited releases. This pushed pork carcass volumes in major wholesale centres to increase 4.8% to 9,594 tonnes.
