Bangladesh's shrimp exports suffer from blockade

Bangladesh's frozen shrimp sector is suffering losses in the global market, particularly the United States and Europe, due to the blockade imposed by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party-led 20-party alliance.

Importers have since cancelled the orders of 30 containers of frozen shrimp in the first 12 days of the blockade that started on January 6, as local exporters failed to meet the deadlines, said the director of Bangladesh Frozen Food Association S Humayun Kabir, according to a news agency.
