US, China negotiate for reopening of chicken exports to Chinese market

The US and China's trade officials are negotiating for the reopening of the Chinese market to US chicken exports, according to a Wall Street Journal report.

Officials from both countries discussed bringing chicken products into China as part of their broader trade talks, the USDA recently told the US meat sector.

Earlier, the Wall Street Journal reported that US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin discussed lifting some or all of the tariffs imposed on Chinese imports and suggested offering a tariff rollback during trade discussions scheduled for January 30.
