CP Foods donates 90,000 more surgical masks to foreign workers
Charoen Pokphand Group and Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL (CPF) have donated 90,000 pieces of surgical masks to the embassies of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos for the purpose of distribution to migrant workers and expats amid a new wave of COVID-19 infections.
Cambodian Ambassador to Thailand Ouk Sorphorn, Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Phan Chi Thanh, and Laos Ambassador to Thailand Seng Soukhathivong have received the medical masks from Prasit Boondoungprasert, CEO of CPF, together with Montri Suwanposri, president of the CP Vietnam Corporation, and Dr. Sombat Thiratrakulchai, senior vice president of CP Foods. Each embassy received 30,000 pieces.
Boondoungprasert revealed that CP Foods believes that a safe workplace is fundamental to safe, undisrupted food production. Therefore, the company has committed to keep all of its workers, including migrant workers, safe from COVID-19 by maintaining the highest safety measures and strict hygiene protocols. The company also extends COVID-19 relief efforts to other people who are not working with the company.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Phan said that CP Foods' businesses in Vietnam has created jobs and greatly contributed to the economic development of the country.
