Bright outlook for India's poultry sector in 2015
For one, Poultry India 2014 saw overwhelming participation by the world's leading companies and a record number of visitors, according to Dr. T. Kotaiah of Indbro Research & Breeding Farms Pvt. Ltd.
K. Chandra Sekhar Rao, the honourable chief minister of the leading poultry producing state, Telangana, then also showed his full involvement in taking the poultry sector further by providing all the help and encouragement to the producers, and in promoting the consumption of eggs for midday meals. He promised to take up the pending issues of the industry at the administrative level, both at the state and central levels.
For poultry feed, prices have been favourable during 2014.
And the egg production sector continues to expand, especially for large states like West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh, with farmgate egg prices crossing the four rupee mark in 2014.
For the central Indian states of Madhya Pradesh and Odisha, broiler production is expanding, where production used to be low.
