H5N8 bird flu reported in Lithuania

The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) said Lithuania has reported a highly pathogenic H5N8 bird flu outbreak in Kaunas town, Reuters reported.

The OIE, citing a report from The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania, said the H5N8 outbreak killed 22 birds in a backyard poultry farm at Kaunas town. The remaining 5 birds were culled.
