Participating in this exhibition allows BD to stay in touch with its existing clients and to constantly keep them informed of upgraded farm management system. At this year's fair, the number of visitors to BD's booth was recorded at an increase of 35% from the previous year.

Increase Demand for Modern Farming System

The increase of visitors clearly indicates an upward demand for modern farming system and technological know-how. It also shows the rapid growth of Myanmar's livestock and agriculture industry in order to meet with the growing demand of the nation. Myanmar's International Livestock, Feed and Agriculture Exhibition is a highly anticipated event and is one of the most important exhibitions in Myanmar.

According to the Asian Development Bank which reported an 8.4% growth in Myanmar's GDP for 2016, and 8.3% for 2017, strongly suggests that the Myanmar's economy is growing rapidly and with a population of over 50 million, Myanmar is experiencing a robust and dynamic economy. With this positive outlook on economic growth, it means producers have to work harder to provide the population with quality and healthy food choices of meat and protein. Hence, the need for an efficient, modern and sustainable farming system.

This exhibition saw participations from industry players from all over the world. Exhibitors were seen show-casing their latest products, maintaining brand presence in the market place and also simply staying in touch with their clients while at the same time took the opportunity to educate clients on the importance of an efficient farm management system in order to meet the rapidly growing demands of the nation and sustainability of the business and the environment.

Innovative Technology for Pig and Poultry Production

Some of the Big Dutchman system that were on display are the Drinking System, Air Inlet, Manure Removal System for the poultry breeding system and farrowing pen, feeder areas and gestation pen for production of pigs.

Of the more popular ones, for pig production, on display is the TriSort Pro; an automatic permanent weight control sorting scale for successful pig finishing. This innovative technology allows pigs to be sorted according to their individual weight. This technology helps the farmers to determine the exact number and weight of ready-to-slaughter pigs; meeting the slaughtering criteria and increase the overall yield and also lowering the feeding costs.

Another innovation that attracted attention was the Enhanced Welfare products for sows, piglets and finishing pigs. Modern farming, not only needs to be economically viable, but must also meet the demand of customers for animal-friendly environment. Big Dutchman offers a wide variety of enrichment toys to satisfy the needs of sows, piglets and finishing pigs. These includes the free-movement farrowing pen for the improved welfare of the sow and piglets.

Talk and Award

Mr. Tommy Lim, from Big Dutchman Malaysia, purposefully flew to Yangon to give talk on 'Heat Stress Management by Ventilation' for poultry breeding which was well received by the clients.

Apart from providing knowledge, Big Dutchman also took home the accolade for the 'Best Product Display'.

To surmise, the exhibition was a big success for Big Dutchman.
