With 27 percent of America's corn harvest and most of Europe's former rapeseed exports being turned into petrol, Asia's livestock sector is forced to compete against the powerful energy industry for scarce grain supplies. Although dried distilled grains with solubles (DDGS) will eventually recycle some ethanol back to feed suppliers, Asia's livestock sector is struggling to accommodate this brave new reality.
