Global markets

CNF prices of Peruvian prime-grade fishmeal remained at US$1,900/tonne.

Market analysis

Feed millers were cautious as fishmeal prices remained high. However, prices stayed firm while the production in Shandong was limited and port inventories dropped 11% to 97,000 tonnes.

Price quotes for prime-grade products stayed in the range of RMB13,500-14,000/tonne.

Market forecast

As strict environmental controls in Shandong hamper fishmeal production and imports from Peru is uncertain, fishmeal market is poised to remain strong. Nonetheless, feed producers will limit purchases as usages are limited with aqua feed production negligible.
