Market analysis

Prices of CBOT January soy futures inched up 0.10% during the week in review.

In China, prices of soymeal softened 0.24% amid weakened demand. Transaction volumes of soymeal shrank prominently by 65% to 215,600 tonnes compared with the previous week while feed producers who had stocked ample inventories withheld buying.

Meanwhile, soy inventories of crushers slid 2% compared with late October's stocks to around 3.9 million tonnes.

Market forecast

Soymeal prices will likely stabilise following previous weeks' consolidation. Should global soy futures prices strengthen amid concerns of adverse weather conditions in south America, soymeal prices are likely to increase in tandem.
