Market analysis

Hog prices inched higher in most regions, rising a modest 0.17% on average. Despite tight availability of finishing hogs, price moves were limited as slaughterhouses restocked inventories prudently even as pork sales showed signs of improving.

On average, pork carcass prices rose by 0.46% to RMB19.79/kg.

Market forecast

The downward scope of hog price is limited with supplies of staying tight. However, even though demand is poised to grow steadily entering winter, how strongly the market will recover remains uncertain amid high pork imports.
