Market analysis

Feed producers were not keen to expand lysine stockpiles while the hog market stayed soft following the recent tumble. However, as supplies were limited due to producers' output cuts, lysine market remained stable during the period in review.

In Europe, price quotes were unchanged at EUR1.20/kg.

Market forecast

Usages of lysine will be slow with soymeal prices weak and the inventories of hog critically low. Sales of lysine will therefore remain sluggish, putting a lid on the prices, even as producers limit production.
