Arkansas, US, produces 298 million eggs in October

 

 

Egg production in Arkansas, the United States, totaled 298 million eggs in October, up 3% from the previous month but down slightly from October 2018.

 

The number of layers in October this year averaged 14.4 million, down slightly from the previous month and down slightly from this time last year. Egg production per 100 layers averaged 2,064 eggs, up 3% from the previous month but down slightly from a year ago.

 

US egg production totaled 9.61 billion during the month, up 3% from last year. The average number of layers during October 2019 totaled 397 million, up 1% from last year. October egg production per 100 layers was 2,422 eggs, up 1% from October 2018.

 

Broiler-type chicks hatched in Arkansas during October 2019 totaled 81.7 million, down 5% from October 2018. Broiler-type chicks hatched in US during October 2019 totaled 815 million, up 3% from October 2018.
