China approves imports of swine, beef and poultry from France

Deals worth US$15 billion, which includes the agriculture, energy and aviation industries, was signed during the French president's visit to China, reported Al Jazeera.

As part of the agriculture deal, 20 French companies have been permitted to commence exports of swine, beef and poultry to China.

An agreement for poultry products, which was signed between both countries earlier this year, has now expanded to include France exports to China of French ducks, geese and foie gras, the latter a speciality dish from France made using duck and goose liver.

According to a statement from the French president's office, both French President Emmanuel Macron and Chinese President Xi Jinping also approved the export of swine semen from France to China.
