Zinpro to provide inflammation management strategies at EuroTier 2018
"Zinpro has a strong reputation for delivering research-proven solutions to prevalent production challenges across species related to carcass and meat quality, milk production and milk quality, reproduction and lameness," says Michael Bain, area manager – Europe and South Africa, Zinpro Corporation. "We now have a greater understanding of the common root cause that links these production issues: chronic or imbalanced inflammation. While an appropriate and robust inflammatory response is necessary, excessive or prolonged inflammation can be detrimental if not controlled. We're committed to help our customers and business partners adopt strategies that help mitigate these costly issues, which often burn up profits and hurt their bottom line."
Inflammation is divided into two categories: acute and chronic. Acute inflammation is the first line of defence to a pathogen or injury. It is a short-term process where the immune system sends white blood cells to initiate the healing process at the site of injury or pathogen invasion. This response should be rapid and robust, appearing within minutes or hours following activation of an immune response. Chronic inflammation occurs when the immune response fails to eliminate the cause of the immune response or acute inflammation. It can last for weeks, months or longer. Chronic inflammation diverts nutrients away from growth, reproduction and production in order to fuel the fight against the inflammatory response.
"Performance trace minerals, when fed as part of a well-balanced animal nutrition programme, can help manage the effects of chronic inflammation," Michael Bain adds. "Peer-reviewed research demonstrates that feeding the essential nutrients contained in Zinpro Performance Minerals® helps to provide a more robust and balanced immune response compared to feeding either inorganic or organic trace mineral sources. This helps animals recover from an inflammation challenge faster, while minimising economic losses."
EuroTier will take place November 13-16, 2018, in Hannover, Germany. Zinpro will be located at Hall 22, Stand C17. For more information about managing inflammation in animals, go to EssentialFeed.zinpro.com
