Market analysis

Feed producers limited purchases of lysine as soymeal prices softened of late while the outbreak of African swine disease remained rampant. Nonetheless, producers stood firm with supplies tight amid strong export sales, thanks to a weak renminbi.

In Europe, price quotes were unchanged in the range of EUR1.23-1.30/kg.

Market forecast

Sales of lysine will be slow as feed producers are wary of the bleak outlook of the hog sector. Nonetheless, prices of lysine are expected to stay firm while availability stay strong amid robust overseas demand and limited output due to low corn availability.
