Prices refer to port transaction prices and are for reference only.
RMB1=US$0.1414 (Oct 23)

Global markets

CNF prices of Peruvian prime-grade fishmeal increased to US$1,340/tonne.

Market analysis

Port inventories of fishmeal continued to shrink as imports were low. At 220,080 tonnes, fishmeal inventories were 25% lower compared with early September's stocks.

Consequently, although the demand for fishmeal was not particularly strong with aqua feed sales flat, fishmeal traders lifted prices with import costs rising.

Price quotes for Peruvian prime-grade products stayed at RMB10,000-10,300/tonne.

Market forecast

Fishmeal prices are seen firm as import costs remain high while inventories continue to dwindle. Nonetheless, with aqua feed demand set to diminish, price hikes of fishmeal are unlikely to be strong.
