EFSA confirms the efficacy and safety of Novus poultry eubiotic
The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has published a new scientific opinion on the safety and efficacy of AVIMATRIX® (Novus International, Inc.) as a zootechnical feed additive.
The authority has concluded that the inclusion of AVIMATRIX at 500 mg/kg complete feed has the potential to improve the performance of chickens for fattening, chickens reared for laying and minor avian species for fattening and to point of lay. It is considered to be tolerated by chickens for fattening and reared for laying up to the maximum recommended dose (1,000 mg/kg complete feed).
AVIMATRIX is a granulated preparation of benzoic acid, calcium formate and fumaric acid, encapsulated in a lipid matrix, which favourably affects bird performance. The eubiotic, manufactured with a proprietary, state-of-the-art production process (Novus Premium Blend Technology), supports broiler producers to achieve better production profitability in an effective and sustainable way.
"The positive conclusions from EFSA on AVIMATRIX demonstrate Novus's innovation capabilities and confirm its commitment to delivering solutions for sustainable animal production," said Uwe Ranft, area general manager, Europe and Middle East at Novus.
