Feed grains

The farmgate price of Thai corn, according to Thailand's Office of Agricultural Economics (OAE), is THB7.48/kg this week, up marginally from THB7.47/kg last week on consistent demand. Delivered to Bangkok feed mills, its average price is THB8.97/kg, up from THB8.95/kg a week ago.

The average FOB export price of Thai corn is US$255.60/tonne, down from US$258.40/tonne last week.

Soy trades locally at THB15.19/kg, down from THB15.52/kg last week. The price is expected to slightly recover in the next few weeks following an uptick in the futures price of soy in the US to US$306.23/tonne this week, from US$305.87/tonne last week, according to OAE analysts.

The average price of soymeal, meanwhile, is THB18.35/kg, unchanged since last week.

Also unchanged during the last two weeks is the price of fishmeal, which is THB39.70/kg.

Livestock

Due to heavy rains in many parts of the country, demand for chicken has dropped, causing the farm-gate price of live broiler to drop by 0.6% to THB41.14/kg this week on the average, from THB41.44/kg last week.

Despite the rains, demand for chicken eggs has increased slightly, causing a slight increase of 0.68% in their farm-gate price to THB296 per 100 pcs, from THB294 a week ago.

Also because of the rains, demand for pork has dropped, leaving the price of live hogs to tumble from THB69.44/kg last week to THB69.02/kg this week, a 0.60% difference.

The same fate has hit live beef cattle, whose price slid to THB105.66/kg this week, from THB105.68/kg this week.

US$1=THB 35.26 (as of Oct 19, 2015)
