Philippine hog industry: Bracing for the tough times
The hog sector is one of the most vibrant agribusinesses in the Philippines. However, the severe blows of diseases, including the economically-deadly AH1N1 and ebola reston virus as well as the recessionary times have wrought havoc to the industry.
In the following interview, MEAT & LIVESTOCK Business Asia talks to Albert Lim, chairman of the National Federation of Hog Farmers Incorporated - the largest hog farmers group in the Philippines - on how players are dealing in one of industry's most challenging periods.
