Market analysis

The rapid spreading of African swine fever alarmed farmers and feed producers, resulting in slower feed sales and production. Although hog feed intakes increased due to the fattening of animals with Mid-autumn Festival approaching, overall sales of lysine remained limited amid prudent mood.

In Europe, price quotes remained in the range of EUR1.23-1.30/kg.

Market forecast

A strong soymeal market will lend support to lysine sales. However, feed millers will limit stockpiles as the outbreak of African swine fever impedes feed sales. Prices of lysine are seen stable to lower.
