Price summary

Prices continued to rise.

Market analysis

AA broiler

Inadequate availability of AA broiler continued to push prices prominently higher. In the north, price hikes were over 10% amid supply shortages. On average, AA broiler prices increased 8.1& over the week.

A robust AA broiler market stimulated the demand for day-old chicks, lifting prices by RMB0.20-0.40/chick to RMB3.20-3.50/chick.

China breed broiler

Prices of China breed broiler climbed higher as well due to lack of supplies. On average, prices increased 4.2% during the period in review.

Chick prices were stable to higher with the support to steady demand, as broiler farmers were more confident to expand inventories.

Market forecast

High prices of broiler will dampen buying interest in the coming week. With slaughterhouses turning prudent, prices will be under pressure. Chick prices are expected to consolidate lower as well.
