FBA Issue 34: September / October 2010

November 16 - 19 2010
EuroTier 2010

One of the world's top events for livestock farmers and Europe's most comprehensive information forum, EuroTier 2010, will be held for the ninth time at the Exhibition Grounds in Hanover, Germany on November 16-19, 2010.

Around 1,700 exhibitors from 46 countries have already booked stands to showcase their latest innovations. At the time of publication, non-German exhibitors in Hanover totalled 650.

The Netherlands top the list once again with 123 companies. A high degree of exhibitor participation is also already evident from France (85), Denmark (49), Italy (48), the United Kingdom (42), China (42), Belgium (39), Spain (38) and Austria (33). "These stand booking figures are at the same high level as they were for the record event two years ago", explains EuroTier Project Manager Dr. Karl Schlösser. "They thus impressively underline EuroTier's prime position as the world's leading exhibition for professional animal husbandry."

In co-operation with partners from the fields of business, academia, research, agribusiness consultancy, trade associations and organisations, EuroTier will present an extensive technical programme to complement its attendee base of exhibitors and industry decision makers.

The programme will include international conferences and events. They, along with separate forum platforms for the leading animal species, will address current trends and important developments in each livestock sector.

For instance, the EuroTier Pig Event, the EuroTier Dairy Event and the International Poultry Event will be held in the Convention Center (CC) on November 15, 2010, the eve of the exhibition's opening. In addition, the Central Association of German Poultry Producers (Zentralverband der Deutschen Geflügelwirtschaft - ZDG) will be holding its annual general meeting at the Convention Center (CC) in the Exhibition Grounds in Hanover on November 15, 2010.

Current issues relating to animal husbandry will be on the agenda at an Eastern Europe Conference on the second day of the exhibition. Also on that day will be a Chinese-European conference devoted to swine husbandry.

Further, there will be separate forum platforms for the main animal species each day during the exhibition at which representatives from universities, consultancy, industry and practical farming will discuss current trends, important developments and answer questions.

There will also be a "Young Farmers Day" at EuroTier 2010, which is designed for young farmers and students of agriculture both from home and abroad. Alongside the visit to EuroTier on November 17, 2010, the programme includes a job forum, a congress addressing the future, and platforms for business interaction.
