Angel Yeast Russia plant goes on stream

On August 11 the first bag of Active Dry Yeast in 500g package rolled off the line, marking the start of Angel Yeast's Russian plant operations.

The plant is considered to be the most advanced factory of its type by Angel Yeast and also in Russia. It is the second overseas factory for Angel.

The plant, built with a total investment of over RMB600 million (US$89.6 million), has an annual output of 20,000 tonnes of dry yeast.

In particular, wastewater treatment construction is one of the supporting projects which can dispose up to 4,000 tonnes of wastewater per day and provide 30,000 tonnes per year of organic fertiliser.

Angel says that the Russian plant has important strategic significance to optimising the company's global yeast production, and enhances the competitiveness and impact of Angel's global yeast business.

Construction of the Russian plant started in September 2015.
