In a first, Thailand to import Japanese pork
Japan has become the first country to receive permission from Thailand to export pork to its consumers, The Japan Times reported last week.
Thai shoppers may find Japanese pork in stores by the end of this year.
Only shipments from stock processed by facilities certified by the Japanese health ministry will be eligible for exports.
Pork from areas where swine fever has broken out will be excluded from the exports.
