BinMaster introduces new vibrating rod for higher temperature processes

The BinMaster SHT or Super High Temperature vibrating rod features a newly developed piezo system built specifically for higher process temperatures up to 482°F (250°C).

The SHT is extremely durable due to the unique design of the patented re-enforced membrane and the new piezo system that features a standard insulation tube that insulates the electronics from excessive heat. The entire probe is constructed of stainless steel, and the electronics are mounted inside an IP66 / IP67 aluminum enclosure for advanced protection.

The SHT series is available in two different models including the SHT-120 with a standard insertion length of 7.37" (188 mm) and the SHT-140, which has a threaded pipe extension that can be customised in lengths from 14" (355 mm) to 13' (3,960 mm), so it can be extended into the bin from the side or the top.

Big Dutchman launches new feed flow product

Livestock equipment manufacturer Big Dutchman has launched a new product to prevent feed bridging, ratholing and flow problems in the silo funnel.

The new compressed air-operated "Bridge Buster" is a discharge system, suitable for dry and powdery bulk material, particularly for floury grain and premix components, said Big Dutchman.

The product consists of ventilation nozzles, pressure control (automatic/manual), and air hose.

When feed is extracted from the silo, compressed air streams from the mechanism's vibrating ventilation nozzle to the space between the silo wall and the collar. The vibration and the compressed air make the bulk material flow again.

The special design of the collar with double lips prevents the material from getting into the nozzle and obstructing it. The ventilation nozzles are positioned at the respective silo funnel where the extraction problems most often occur.
