World's biggest layer hatchery opens in Hebei Province, China
Huayu Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. has recently opened what is reportedly the world's biggest layer hatchery, which is located in China's Hebei Province.
The grand opening of the facility - called the Huayu International Poultry Incubation Center - saw 500 guests, including local and provincial government officials, as well as Jonathan Cade, president of poultry genetics company Hy-Line International.
Huayu Agricultural Technology is the Chinese distributor of Hy-Line products. The Handan-based facility is the result of a joint venture between both companies.
"I congratulate the Huayu team, headed by its president, Mr. Lianzeng Wang, for their vision of the changing demands and even leading the change in [China's] layer market," Cade remarked.
With its equipment, site design and biosecurity touted as world-class, the facility is expected to produce 60 million female commercial chicks annually. It features an international training and conference centre, which hosted the International Layer Industry Innovation in conjunction with the official opening.
