DSM names a new chief technology officer
Effective October 1st, Marcel Wubbolts, vice president of R&D at DSM Innovation Center, will assume the position of DSM's chief technology officer and report to Rob van Leen, the company's chief innovation officer.
Wubbolts holds a PhD from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. He joined DSM as a senior scientist and became managing director of DSM Biotech GmbH, in JÃ¼lich, Germany. Thereafter, he became Biocatalysis & Biotransformations' competence manager. Henceforth, he was promoted to the role of programme director at the DSM Innovation Center in Delft, the Netherlands, where he ran the Industrial (White) Biotechnology programme.
Wubbolts has published over 80 publications and patents in the area of biocatalysis and metabolic engineering. He also serves on the board of the WG Applied Biocatalysis of the Dutch Society for Biotechnology (NBV); the board of the European Federation of Biotechnology Section on Applied Biocatalysis (ESAB); the Industrial Biotechnology council of EuropaBio; the supervisory board of ERA-NET Industrial Biotechnology and leads the Industrial Biotechnology Section of Suschem, European Technology Platform for Sustainable Chemistry.
Wubbolts will succeed Jos Put, who will continue to be an advisor to DSM in the field of material sciences and for several of the DSM Science and Technology awards.
Chore-Time Brock International appoints new regional sales manager
Bruce Mitchell, regional general manager of Europe Group for the Chore-Time Brock (CTB) business unit, announced the appointment of PÃ©ter Jankovics as CTB International's regional sales manager for Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Jankovics will be responsible for promoting Brock grain storage, handling, conditioning and drying systems in those regions.
Prior to joining CTB, Jankovics worked in central Europe as a managing director overseeing production and trading activity for feed mill and livestock operations. His previous experience includes technical service and sales management as well as independent consulting services for poultry production and exporting to Central Europe, Eastern Europe and the Balkan countries.
A native of KaposvÃ¡r, Hungary, Jankovics holds a doctorate degree in economics from the country's University of KaposvÃ¡r and a master's degree in agricultural engineering from Pannon Agricultural University.
