Market analysis

Domestic demand for lysine was limited as hog farming continued to suffer losses while animal population remained low. Nonetheless, a diminished output, in conjunction with improved export demand amid a sharply lower renminbi, helped to hold prices of lysine stable over the week.

In Europe, price quotes remained in the range of EUR1.30-1.35/kg.

Market forecast

As low hog feed demand continues to impede the sales of lysine domestically, producers will hold down prices in a bid to entice overseas buyers. Lysine prices are seen stable to lower in the coming period.
