As BASF scheduled to resume production in June, buyers were not keen to stockpile vitamin A. Chinese producers continued to cut prices, albeit at a slower pace, in preparation for the production rise in the market.

Since February, vitamin A prices have plummeted 60%.

Despite the sharp fall in prices over the past several months, vitamin A prices are still higher by 280% compared with a year ago. Once BASF resumes production on as commercial scale, prices are expected to dip prominently.
